 Jill Holmes BA Honours Fine Art

 

Jill is a Contemporary Artist working from a studio overlooking Loch Ewe and the famous Inverewe Gardens. She specialises in creating art works from pewter which is either embossed & embellished with gold leaf & gilding waxes or fused with enamels.  To complement her pewter pieces she also produces a unique range of handmade pewter art brooches.

Her other passions are watercolour & printmaking where she can indulge in her love of intricately detailed  pieces full of intense vibrant colour.

Jills inspiration for her work comes from Gaelic folklore, Celtic imagery & a fertile imagination that can take her anywhere.

Jill has exhibited in Galleries throughout the United Kingdom, she was also selected to show work at The Royal Academy Summer Show in London.

During the course of her life as an Artist she has completed commissions for a range of venues including Scottish Natural Heritage ; Rue Reidh Lighthouse ; Mens Health Highlands. She has also been an Artist in Residence at several galleries & schools to promote the accessibility of art to a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds.

 Jill is constantly evolving as an artist to push her boundaries by exploring and experimenting with new mediums.
